About Alex Pagnoni

Enterprise DevEx & 25+ Years in the Tech Trenches

I don’t advise engineering leaders from an ivory tower. My strategy is forged daily at the intersection of enterprise scale, software architecture, platform engineering and developer productivity, combined with more than two decades of building tech companies, executive communities, and B2B frameworks from the ground up.

Bridging the Gap Between Code, Culture, and Capital

In high-growth technology organizations, friction is the silent killer of engineering momentum. Poor developer experience (DevEx), fragmented platform tooling, and misaligned architectural decisions don’t just slow down releases: they burn out talent and erode business margins.

My focus is on eliminating that friction.

As Engineering Manager for Developer Experience at Docebo (NASDAQ: DCBO), I work on the front lines of enterprise developer productivity, platform engineering, and engineering metrics. I focus on turning complex delivery pipelines into seamless, high-velocity developer journeys.

Before taking on enterprise DevEx leadership at scale, I spent over 25 years as a tech founder, chief architect, and advisor, building software firms, launching digital publications, and guiding tech executives through critical architectural and organizational pivots.

The Three Pillars of My Career

Enterprise DevEx & Engineering Leadership – Practitioner at Scale

Leading Developer Experience initiatives in a global, NASDAQ-listed SaaS enterprise. Applying modern productivity frameworks (DORA, SPACE, DX) to streamline engineering workflows, optimize platform tooling, and empower distributed engineering teams.

Serial Tech Entrepreneurship & Advisory – 25+ Years of Building & Scaling

Founder of Axelerant and creator of the GamePlan decision system. Advisor to Tech CEOs, CTOs, VPEs, and founders on tech strategy, tech leadership, architectural audits, and developer experience.

Media, Community & Thought Leadership – Building Ecosystems for Tech Executives

Founder of CTO Mastermind, Italy’s premier executive tech community. Author of Winning in Tech, a strategic handbook for technology management, and creator of executive publications and media channels including Pionieri del Tech podcast, Tech No Logic YouTube Channel and Tech 360 digital magazine.

Operating Principles

Pragmatism Over Hype: Architecture and tooling exist to drive business value and developer throughput—not to satisfy technical vanity.

Friction is the Metric: If developers are struggling with onboarding, pipeline bottlenecks, or cognitive overload, your delivery system is broken.

Execution Feeds Strategy: Real strategic insight comes from daily operational reality, not abstract frameworks.
